Spell-checking as a sign of intelligence

For all of the papers, manuscripts, presentations that my student send me - all have blatant spelling errors in them (100% of them, not joking).

HOW HARD IS IT TO PRESS F7 AND RUN YOUR SPELLCHECKER, PEOPLE!!!

Have you thought about how it makes you look when you can't spell rudimentary words? I am so tired of wiping your ass!

Do all of them contain errors that the spell check would have found? It is after all quite easy to get a type that leads to a valid word, only the wrong one.

Yes, the errors are on very common non-technical words. If the errors were on technical words that the spell checker usually misses, then I'd be a little calmer :)

simple - just send it back and say you won't look at it until it has been spell-checked properly. And grammar checked. It's highly unprofessional not to do so - and tell them that as well!

This is usually the case with a lot of papers written by non-English speakers. Do they not get someone with a rudimentary grasp of English to look over their shit.
